In Shaiva devotion, the Linga embodies Shiva’s transcendent reality, while Devī’s described form expresses the compassionate, manifest power (Śakti) inseparable from Shiva—together guiding devotees from form-based worship to realization of the Supreme.
A simple practice is dhyāna (devotional visualization) of Umā’s auspicious form while repeating the Panchākṣarī mantra, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” letting the mind settle into steady bhakti and reverence.
