Dharmas that Grant Ease on the Path to Yama

The verse highlights that even meritorious social and religious works—like supporting ascetics’ āśramas or caring for orphans—can remain within the sphere of worldly engagement (pāśa) unless joined to inner detachment and devotion to Pati (Shiva).
It implies that outer dharmic activity should culminate in God-centeredness: offering one’s works to Saguna Shiva (as Linga-worship and daily pūjā) transforms mere ‘worldly play’ into a liberating discipline aligned with Shaiva Siddhanta.
A practical takeaway is karma-yoga in a Shaiva mode: perform service while daily anchoring the mind in Shiva through Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Linga worship, cultivating vairāgya alongside compassion.
