Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude
आबाल्याद्विष्णुभक्तासि यतोऽनिशमतंद्रिता । एवमस्त्विति सा प्राह मनसा लज्जितानना
ābālyādviṣṇubhaktāsi yato'niśamataṃdritā | evamastviti sā prāha manasā lajjitānanā
幼少の頃より、あなたはヴィシュヌ神の信者であり、常に変わらず、たゆむことがありませんでした。これを聞いて、彼女は内なる羞恥に顔を伏せ、心の中で「その通りになりますように」と答えました。

It praises unwavering, lifelong devotion and the virtue of humility—showing that true bhakti is marked by steadiness (atandritā) and inner modesty rather than outward display.
Though Viṣṇu is named, the Shiva Purana often frames devotion as a purifier of the soul (paśu) leading toward the Supreme Lord (Pati). Such steadfast bhakti becomes a foundation for Saguna Shiva worship—eventually ripening into single-pointed surrender.
The practical takeaway is consistency in daily worship: steady japa (such as the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), regular pūjā, and disciplined remembrance without fatigue—performed with humility.
