It praises the Goddess as the immanent Shakti who sustains embodied life through the senses, mind, and inner steadiness, and who grants restorative sleep—showing Shiva’s grace operates in the world through Shakti for the orderly maintenance of bhava (worldly existence).
In Saguna worship, Shiva is adored together with His inseparable Shakti; this verse highlights that the Lord’s protective, sustaining function is experienced through the Goddess’s powers within the body and mind—supporting Linga worship as devotion to the Shiva-Shakti unity.
A practical takeaway is nightly japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with calm breath awareness, offering the day’s senses and mind to Shiva-Shakti and praying for pure, sattvic sleep that restores dhṛti (steadiness) for dharma.
