Pārvatī’s Discourse: Establishing Śiva as Parabrahman
na tvādṛśīmpraṇayinīṃ paśyāmi ca trilokake | sarvathāhaṃ tavādhīnassvakāmaḥ pūryyatāṃ śive
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Ardhanārīśvara
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
It highlights the mutual, grace-filled intimacy of Śiva and Śivā: even the Supreme Lord, in his saguna līlā, expresses loving dependence, teaching that divine union is rooted in affection, surrender, and auspiciousness (śivatva).
Though Liṅga worship points to the transcendent (nirguṇa) reality, this verse emphasizes saguna devotion—Śiva’s personal, relational aspect—showing that bhakti to Śiva-Śakti as a living presence is fully valid and spiritually elevating.
A practical takeaway is heartfelt prayer (saṅkalpa) with surrender—reciting the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while contemplating Śiva-Śakti unity, offering one’s desire to be purified and fulfilled by divine will.
