कामप्रहारः — The Subduing of Kāma (Desire) / Kāma’s Assault and Its Futility
कामेन सुस्मृता देवाश्शक्राद्यास्ते मुनीश्वर । आययुः सकलास्ते हि शंभुं नत्वा च तुष्टुवुः
kāmena susmṛtā devāśśakrādyāste munīśvara | āyayuḥ sakalāste hi śaṃbhuṃ natvā ca tuṣṭuvuḥ
おお最勝の聖仙よ、カーマが正しく念じ招いたとき、シャクラ(インドラ)をはじめとするすべての神々が一斉に来集した。彼らはシャンブーに礼拝してから、讃歌をもって讃嘆した。
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It highlights that even the highest devas must approach Śiva through humility (namaskāra) and devotion (stuti), acknowledging Him as the supreme Pati who grants grace beyond worldly power.
The verse models Saguna-upāsanā: approaching Śambhu in a personal form, bowing, and praising—attitudes central to Linga worship where reverence and heartfelt stotra accompany ritual offerings.
Adopt namaskāra and stuti as daily practice—begin worship with respectful prostration, then recite Shiva stotras or the Pañcākṣarī mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a surrendered mind.
