(Questions on Tārakāsura and Śivā’s tapas) / “Inquiry into Tārakāsura’s origin and Śivā–Śiva narrative”
tacchrutvāhaṃ mune'vocaṃ sāttviko bhāva ucyata | tattvasāra iti prītyā sṛjāmyekāṃ varāṃ striyam
Brahmā
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: creative
The verse highlights that a sāttvika (pure and luminous) inner disposition is spiritually praised and becomes the basis for a higher, truth-oriented manifestation—symbolized by the creation of “Tattvasārā,” the essence of reality.
While the verse is about sāttvika bhāva and creation, it supports Saguna Shiva worship indirectly: purity (sattva) refines the mind so devotion can rest steadily on Shiva’s form (Liṅga), making worship more receptive to grace and inner transformation.
The practical takeaway is cultivation of sāttvika bhāva—purity, restraint, truthfulness, and devotion—supported by simple Shaiva sādhanā such as japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and maintaining a pure, disciplined worship routine.
