ヴィシュヌを招き寄せて相談し、大いなる力を備えたサーマラは彼に向かって立ちはだかった。するとその前に、三つの眼をもつ主(シヴァ)もまた現れた。

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Trilocana
The verse highlights Śiva’s responsive grace: when dharmic counsel is taken (even with Viṣṇu), the Lord manifests as Trilocana to restore order. In Shaiva Siddhānta, this points to Pati (Śiva) actively guiding and safeguarding beings through his compassionate presence.
Śiva appearing as “Trilocana” emphasizes Saguna worship—devotees relate to the Lord through a concrete form and name. Such manifestations support Linga-upāsanā by affirming that the formless Supreme (Nirguṇa) is accessible through gracious, perceivable forms (Saguṇa) for protection and guidance.
A practical takeaway is to invoke Śiva with the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” meditating on Trilocana (three-eyed awareness) as the inner witness. As a supportive rite, apply Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) with remembrance of Śiva’s protective presence.
