विदुष्टे अस्य वीर्यस्य पूरवः पुरो यदिन्द्र शारदीरवातिरः सासहानो अवातिरः । शासस्तमिन्द्र मर्त्यमयज्युं शवसस्पते । महीममुष्णाः पृथिवीमिमा अपो मन्दसान इमा अपः ॥
vidúṣ ṭe asyá vī́ryasya pūrávaḥ púraḥ yád índra śā́radīḥ ava-atíraḥ sasahānáḥ ava-atíraḥ | śā́sas tám índra mártyam áyajyum śavasaḥ pate | mahī́m ámuṣṇāḥ pṛthivī́m imā́ ápaḥ mandasāná imā́ ápaḥ ||
古の人々は知る、汝のこの英雄の威力を。インドラよ、汝が秋の堅固なる砦を突き破り、勝ちつつ突き破ったとき、勝ちつつ突き破ったとき。インドラよ、力の主よ、祭をなさぬ死すべき者を懲らしめよ。汝は歓喜のうちに、この大いなる大地を損なわず、これらの水を解き放った、これらの水を。
