The Slaying of Atikāya
स ध्वजस्सपताकश्चसानुकर्षोमहारथः ।चतुस्सादिसमायुक्तोमेघस्तनितानि ।।।।
sa dhvajaḥ sapatākaś ca sānukarṣo mahārathaḥ | catussādisamāyukto meghastanitāni ||
その大戦車は、旗印と幡を備え、諸々の装具を具し、四人の御者を配して、雲の雷鳴のごとく轟いた。
"His bow with three curves, covered with gold, decorated, is close to a thundering cloud, casting its splendour."
Dharma in warfare includes preparedness and order; the verse highlights disciplined martial organization (equipment, charioteers), reminding that righteous victory depends on coordinated duty, not chaos.
The enemy’s chariot is portrayed as massive and thunderous, staffed and fully outfitted as it approaches the battlefield.
Readiness—recognizing that battles are decided by training and organization as much as by individual strength.
