Malyavan’s Counsel, Portents in Laṅkā, and the Proposal of Alliance
ऋषीणामग्निकल्पानामग्निहोत्रासमुत्थितः ।।।।अदत्तेरक्षसांतेजोधूमोव्याप्यदिशोदश ।
ṛṣīṇām agnikalpānām agnihotrāsamutthitaḥ |
ādattē rakṣasāṃ tejo dhūmo vyāpya diśo daśa ||
火そのもののごとき聖仙たちのアグニホートラより立ちのぼる煙は、十方に満ちひろがり、羅刹の光威を奪い去る。
"By the spread of smoke in different directions from the sacrificial fires from the oblations offered by the seers the brilliance of the Rakshasas is taken away."
Dharma is shown as protective and purifying: righteous rites and sanctified effort weaken forces that thrive on disorder and harm.
The text describes a supernatural consequence of Vedic ritual—smoke spreading everywhere and diminishing Rakshasa power.
