पुत्रजन्मोत्सवः — Birth of the Princes and Viśvāmitra’s Arrival
Bālakāṇḍa 18
न च तेन विना निद्रां लभते पुरुषोत्तम:।।।।मृष्टमन्नमुपानीतमश्नाति न हि तं विना।
na ca tena vinā nidrāṁ labhate puruṣottamaḥ ||
mṛṣṭam annam upānītam aśnāti na hi taṁ vinā ||
そして彼なくしては、最上の人ラーマは眠りさえ得られず、供された最上の食も、ラクシュマナがいなければ口にしなかった。
Rama, the greatest among men would not sleep without Lakshmana's company. He would not partake even the choicest food minus to him.
Dharma is sustained through faithful companionship: the verse portrays an ideal of mutual dependence grounded in love and duty, not self-interest.
The narrator describes the depth of Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa’s togetherness in daily life—sleep and meals.
Constancy in relationship and emotional integrity—Rāma’s life is pictured as inseparable from Lakṣmaṇa’s presence.
