Mantharā Episode
एवमुक्त्वा तु तेनाशु सखीजनसमावृता।गृहीता बलवत्कुब्जा सा तद्गृहमनादयत्।।।।
evam uktvā tu tenāśu sakhījana-samāvṛtā | gṛhītā balavat kubjā sā tad gṛham anādayat ||
そう言い終えるや、彼は仲間に囲まれていた猫背の女をたちまち力強く捕らえた。すると彼女はその家中に響く大声で泣き叫んだ。
Saying thus, he forcibly caught hold of the hunchback amidst her companions when she filled the house with her cries.
The verse highlights how anger can lead to coercive action; dharma calls for self-control, especially within the royal household where justice should be measured, not impulsive.
Śatrughna physically seizes Mantharā in the palace; she screams, and the disturbance spreads through the residence.
