भरतस्य मातृसदनगमनं कैकेय्या दारुणवृत्तान्तकथनं च
Bharata in Kaikeyi’s apartments: revelation of Daśaratha’s death and Rāma’s exile
आर्यकस्ते सुकुशली युधाजिन्मातुलस्तव।
प्रवासाच्च सुखं पुत्र सर्वं मे वक्तुमर्हसि।।2.72.6।।
āryakas te sukuśalī yudhājin-mātulas tava |
pravāsāc ca sukhaṃ putra sarvaṃ me vaktum arhasi ||
汝の尊き祖父はつつがなく、また母方の叔父ユダージトも安泰か。旅の逗留は心地よかったか、わが子よ。すべてを私に語りなさい。
My son! are your revered grandfather and your maternal uncle Yudhajit doing well?Did you have a pleasant time during the sojourn? You should tell me all this.
It reflects household dharma: maintaining kinship bonds through inquiry, and encouraging truthful, complete communication within the family.
Kaikeyi questions Bharata about the welfare of her father (Bharata’s maternal grandfather) and her brother Yudhājit, and asks him to recount details of his stay.
Family-mindedness and concern for relatives, along with an expectation of truthful reporting (satya) from Bharata.
