Bharata in Kaikeyi’s apartments: revelation of Daśaratha’s death and Rāma’s exile
अभिषेक्ष्यति रामं नु राजा यज्ञं नु यक्ष्यते।इत्यहं कृतसङ्कल्पो हृष्टो यात्रामयासिषम्।।2.72.27।।
abhiṣekṣyati rāmaṃ nu rājā yajñaṃ nu yakṣyate |
ity ahaṃ kṛta-saṅkalpo hṛṣṭo yātrām ayāsiṣam || 2.72.27 ||
「王はラーマに灌頂を授けるのだろうか、それともヤジュニャ(供犠)を行うのだろうか」と思い、私は決意を固め、喜びのうちに旅立った。
Now everything has turned out to be different. My mind is shattered.I no longer behold my father who is ever intent on my welfare and happiness.
Dharma as social-royal order: Bharata assumes the king’s actions will be righteous and auspicious (abhisheka or yajña), reflecting trust in dharmic kingship.
Bharata recalls his earlier, joyful assumption about why he had been summoned/why events were unfolding—before learning the tragic truth.
Bharata’s goodwill and reverent confidence in his father’s and Rama’s dharmic standing.
