भरतस्य मातृसदनगमनं कैकेय्या दारुणवृत्तान्तकथनं च
Bharata in Kaikeyi’s apartments: revelation of Daśaratha’s death and Rāma’s exile
न ह्यत्र यानैर्दृश्यन्ते न गजैर्न च वाजिभिः।।2.71.24।।
निर्यान्तो वाऽभियान्तो वा नरमुख्या यथापुरम्।
uttiṣṭhottiṣṭha kiṃ śeṣe rājaputra mahāyaśaḥ | tvadvidhā na hi śocanti santaḥ sadasi sammatāḥ || 2.72.24 ||
「起きよ、起きよ——なぜそのように横たわるのだ、誉れ高き王子よ。善き人々に集いの中で敬われる汝のような者は、このように嘆き沈むべきではない。」
O illustrious prince! arise, arise. Why are you lying down on the floor? Learned people like you, who are worthy of honour in the assembly ought not to grieve like this.
