Arrival at Chitrakuta and Establishing the Leaf-Hut
अनेकनानामृगपक्षिसङ्कुले विचित्रपत्रस्तबकैर्द्रुमैर्युते।वनोत्तमे व्यालमृगानुनादिते तदा विजह्रु स्सुसुखं जितेन्द्रियाः।।।।
aneka-nānā-mṛga-pakṣi-saṅkule vicitra-patra-stabakair drumair yute |
vanottame vyāla-mṛgānunādite tadā vijahruḥ su-sukhaṃ jitendriyāḥ ||
そのとき彼らは自らを律し、諸感覚を制した者として、まことに安らかにその最上の森を逍遥した。そこは多くの獣や鳥が群れ、色とりどりの葉房をつけた樹々に満ち、野の生きものの声がこだましていた。
Then they with their senses conquered, enjoyed perfect happiness in that splendid forest teeming with many varieties of animals and birds, with trees full of brilliant clusters of flowers and echoing with the sounds of wild animals.
Dharma is self-mastery (jitendriyatā): inner discipline allows one to live peacefully even amid uncertainty, turning exile into a life of mindful harmony.
After settling, they move about in the surrounding forest, experiencing its richness while remaining self-restrained.
Sense-control and serenity—enjoyment without indulgence, grounded in restraint.
