Night on the Bank of the Tamasa and the Stratagem to Elude the Citizens
सूतस्तत स्सत्त्वरितः स्यन्दनं तैर्हयोत्तमैः।योजयित्व्राऽथ रामाय प्राञ्जलिः प्रत्यवेदयत्।।2.46.26।।
sūtas tataḥ sa tvaritaḥ syandanaṁ tair hayottamaiḥ |
yojayitvā 'tha rāmāya prāñjaliḥ pratyavedayat ||2.46.26||
そこで御者は急ぎ、優れた馬たちで車を繋ぎ、合掌してラーマに申し上げた。
Thereupon the charioteer hurriedly harnessed the splendid horses to the chariot and informed Rama with folded hands:
Dharma as service (sevā) within rightful order: Sumantra performs his duty promptly and respectfully, supporting Rama’s lawful course.
Sumantra prepares the chariot and formally informs Rama that it is ready.
Faithful service and respect—shown through haste in duty and folded hands in address.
