やがて、さまざまな猛獣の満ちるパンチャヴァティーに至ると、ラーマは、燃えるような威光を放つ弟サウミトリ(ラクシュマナ)に語りかけた。
O Rama among the lords of all beings the first was Kardama, the next was Vikritha, followed by Sesha, Samsrya Bahuputra, Sthanu, Mareechi, Atri and mighty Kratu, Pulastya, Angirasa, Pracheta, similarly Pulaha and Daksha.Following them were Vivasvan, Arishtanemi and the very glorious Kasyapa who was the last ruler.
Dharma as vigilant settlement: even when choosing a residence, one must recognize danger and act responsibly within a threatening environment.
Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa arrive at Pañcavaṭī, a forest region with dangerous animals, and Rāma begins instructing Lakṣmaṇa.
Lakṣmaṇa’s readiness and strength in service, indicated by “dīptatejas”—his energetic preparedness to support Rāma’s righteous mission.
