The Greatness of Offering Piṇḍas at Viṣṇvādipada (Viṣṇupada) — Gayā Śrāddha Procedure and Fruits
bhāradvājastataḥ piṃḍaṃ dātuṃ kṛṣṇāya codyataḥ | śveto dṛśyo'bravītputra dehi putro mamaurasaḥ || 34 ||

The verse stresses dharmic precision in ancestral rites: a piṇḍa-offering should be given to the rightful recipient as sanctioned by lineage and truth, not merely by impulse or assumption.
Even when Kṛṣṇa is revered, the narrative shows that devotion must harmonize with prescribed dharma—bhakti does not cancel the ethical and ritual order governing śrāddha and piṇḍa-dāna.
It reflects Kalpa (a Vedāṅga) through the rules of śrāddha procedure—identifying the proper recipient and performing piṇḍa-dāna according to lineage-based injunctions.
