Pātivratya-kathana
The Narrative of the Pativrata
अनुकूलं हितं तस्या इष्टाया भर्तुराचरेत् । यथा भर्ता तथा तां हि पश्येत वरवर्णिनि ॥ ५५ ॥
anukūlaṃ hitaṃ tasyā iṣṭāyā bharturācaret | yathā bhartā tathā tāṃ hi paśyeta varavarṇini || 55 ||
おお麗しき肌の者よ、彼女は愛する夫にとって快く益あることを行うべきである。そうすれば夫もまた、同じ善意をもって彼女を見守るであろう。
Narada (instructional discourse; addressing a woman as 'varavarṇini')
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It frames household life as a dharmic discipline: right conduct (ācāra) expressed through goodwill and benefit (anukūla, hita) sustains harmony and becomes a support for spiritual steadiness in the gṛhastha-āśrama.
While not explicitly naming bhakti, it teaches a bhakti-like attitude in relationships—service and goodwill—training the mind in humility and steadiness, which are supportive virtues for devotion to Bhagavān.
No specific Vedāṅga (like Vyākaraṇa, Jyotiṣa, or Kalpa) is taught directly; the focus is on sadācāra (ethical conduct) as applied dharma within household life.
