Narration of Dharma
गङ्गास्नानफलं तस्य निश्चितं नृप जायते । रत्नान्वितसुवर्णस्य प्रदानेन नृपोत्तम ॥ १०६ ॥
gaṅgāsnānaphalaṃ tasya niścitaṃ nṛpa jāyate | ratnānvitasuvarṇasya pradānena nṛpottama || 106 ||
王よ、宝石をあしらった黄金を施す者は、まさしくガンガーに沐浴するのと同じ果報を得る、最勝の統治者よ。
Narada
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta (peace)
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta (wonder)
It equates tīrtha-merit (the fruit of Gaṅgā bathing) with dāna-merit, teaching that sincere charitable gifting can confer the same puṇya as pilgrimage rites.
By valuing selfless offering over mere travel, it supports a bhakti-aligned ethic: devotion expresses itself through generosity and service, not only through external ritual acts.
Ritual pragmatics (kalpa-style guidance) is implied: when a tīrtha-bath is difficult, prescribed dāna (gold with gems) is taught as an equivalent meritorious substitute.
