Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
mayūrahamsasaṁyuktaṁ vimānaṁ labhate naraḥ |
The verse teaches that disciplined religious observance—specifically fasting as a vow at a sacred riverbank—produces tangible spiritual merit, described here as a glorious posthumous reward (a celestial vimāna).
Pulastya is enumerating the fruits of tīrtha-related vows. Here he states that one who performs a three-night fast on the bank of the Veṇā river attains, after death, a divine aerial car yoked with peacocks and swans.
