Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
प्राप्यन्ते तानि तीर्थानि सद्धिः शास्त्रानुदर्शिभि: | नाव्रती नाकृतात्मा च नाशुचिर्न च तस्कर:
prāpyante tāni tīrthāni saddhiḥ śāstrānudarśibhiḥ | nāvratī nākṛtātmā ca nāśucir na ca taskaraḥ ||
それらの聖なる渡し場（ティールタ）は、真に徳ある者—経典にかなって生きる者—によってこそ到達される。誓戒なき者、自らを律せぬ者、行いの汚れた者、あるいは盗人は、その果報に至らない。ここに説かれるのは、巡礼とは旅路のみで成就するのではなく、道徳的な節制と内なる清浄によって完成するということである。
