Educational Q&A

The verse foregrounds the power of refined, divine art (music and song) to set a sacred and emotionally charged atmosphere. Ethically, it signals attentiveness and reverence toward higher, orderly realms where beauty and discipline coexist—often preparing the listener for an important encounter or instruction.

Arjuna begins describing a scene: Gandharvas are playing vīṇās, and a divine, captivating song has started. The line functions as a setup for the next events, marking the commencement of a significant moment in a celestial or extraordinary setting.
