तस्या: कौतूहलं त्वासीन्मन्त्रं प्रति नराधिप । आह्वानमकरोत् साथ तस्य देवस्य भाविनी,नरेश्वर! उन्हें देखकर कुन्तीके मनमें अपने मन्त्रकी शक्तिकी परीक्षा करनेके लिये कौतूहल पैदा हुआ। तब उस सुन्दरी राजकन्याने सूर्यदेवका आवाहन किया
tasyāḥ kautūhalaṃ tv āsīn mantraṃ prati narādhipa | āhvānam akarot sātha tasya devasya bhāvinī ||
ヴァイシャṃパーヤナは言った。「大王よ、クンティの心には、自らの真言の力への好奇が燃え上がった。試してみようと望んだ高貴なる王女は、その神—まさしく太陽神スーリヤ—を招請した。かくして、のちに彼女の生涯を形づくり、未来の法（ダルマ）をめぐる緊張を生む一瞬が動き出したのである。」
