Adhyāya 14: Śalya’s Missile-Pressure and the Pāṇḍava Convergence (शल्यस्य शरवर्षम्)
ādade parighaṁ ghoraṁ nagendra-śikharopamam |

The verse highlights how anger, triggered by loss and humiliation in war, quickly turns into renewed aggression; it implicitly warns that unchecked krodha magnifies violence and clouds discernment, even for great warriors.
After his club is cut down, Aśvatthāmā becomes enraged and grabs a terrifying parigha, described as resembling a mountain peak, signaling his intent to continue fighting with intensified ferocity.
