Arjuna’s Northern Conquests and Tribute Collection
युधिष्ठिरा भ्यनुज्ञातास्ते नृपा हृष्टमानसा: । जग्मुः स्वदेशांस्त्वरिता यानैरुच्चावचैस्तत:
yudhiṣṭhirābhyanujñātās te nṛpā hṛṣṭamānasāḥ | jagmuḥ svadeśāṁs tvaritā yānair uccāvacais tataḥ ||
ユディシュティラの許しを得ると、諸王は心ひそかに喜び、さまざまな乗り物に乗って、ただちにそれぞれの国へと急ぎ去った。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic royal conduct: a ruler grants formal leave to visiting kings, and they depart respectfully and in good order—an ethical model of hospitality, protocol, and stable governance.
After being granted permission by King Yudhiṣṭhira, the assembled kings—pleased and satisfied—quickly return to their own countries using various kinds of vehicles.
