Power in war is not praised by sheer destructiveness alone; the verse highlights vidhivat—regulated, rule-bound conduct. Even when divine weapons are used, the ethical ideal is disciplined application and proportionate counteraction rather than uncontrolled escalation.
During a major clash, a principal fighter (implied by context) neutralizes the divine missiles released by noble warriors, using corresponding divine weapons and doing so in the proper prescribed manner, thereby preventing their effects in the thick of battle.
