दीपयन्ती उभे सेने शंसन्तीव महद् भयम् | सूर्यमण्डलसे बड़ी भारी उल्का निकलकर दोनों सेनाओंको प्रकाशित करती और महान् भयकी सूचना-सी देती हुई पृथ्वीपर गिर पड़ी
dīpayantī ubhe sene śaṃsantīva mahad bhayam | sūryamaṇḍalasaṃnibhā bhārī ulkā nikalya ubhayasenāṃ prakāśayantī mahadbhayasyābhisūcanāmiva dadatī pṛthivyāṃ nipapāta |
サञ्जयは言った。「太陽の円盤にも似た巨大な流星が燃え上がり、両軍を照らし出し、まるで大いなる恐怖を告げるかのように地上へ落ちた。戦の道徳的な空気の中で、この凶兆はアダルマへの沈下がいよいよ深まること、そして双方とも逃れ得ぬ暴力の収穫が迫ることを示している。」
