न च कज्चन निन्दन्ति सन्त: शूरा नरर्षभा: | “नरश्रेष्ठ शूरवीर सज्जन शत्रुको जीतकर बढ़-बढ़कर बातें नहीं बनाते, किसीको कट वचन नहीं कहते और न किसीकी निन््दा ही करते हैं
na ca kaścana nindanti santaḥ śūrā naraṛṣabhāḥ |
サンジャヤは言った。「真に高貴なる者—勇士にして人中の最上—は、誰かをそしることに耽らない。勝利と力のただ中にあっても、荒い言葉を慎み、他者の瑕疵をあげつらわぬ。その節度こそ、戦の暴威の中にあってなお品格を示す印である。」
