वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how extraordinary individuals may arise through unusual circumstances when a larger dharmic purpose is at work—here, the birth of Vyāsa, whose role will be pivotal for preserving and guiding the Bhārata lineage and its moral discourse.
Satyavatī unites with the sage Parāśara and immediately gives birth on an island in the Yamunā to a powerful child, Pārāśarya—later known as Vyāsa.
