प्रतिनन्द्य स तां पूजां पृष्टवा कुशलमन्ततः । आसने काज्चने शुद्धे निषसाद महामना:
pratinandya sa tāṁ pūjāṁ pṛṣṭvā kuśalam antataḥ | āsane kāñcane śuddhe niṣasāda mahāmanāḥ ||

The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: one should receive honor without arrogance, respond with goodwill, and begin interaction by asking after others’ welfare (kuśala). Reverence is completed not merely by ritual offering but by mutual auspiciousness, humility, and proper conduct.
After being honored with worship, the revered sage (understood as Vyāsa in the narrative context) expresses acceptance, then asks about everyone’s well-being, and finally takes his seat on a pure golden seat, marking the formal beginning of the ensuing conversation or instruction.
