Arjuna’s Hitting of the Target at the Svayaṃvara
tam eva yūyaṃ yācadhvam aurvaṃ mama sutottamam | ayaṃ vaḥ praṇipātena tuṣṭo dṛṣṭīḥ pramokṣyati ||
The verse emphasizes that sincere humility and reverential submission (praṇipāta) can soften even formidable spiritual power, making grace and restoration possible. Ethical force lies in approaching the worthy with respect rather than entitlement.
Vasiṣṭha directs the affected group to approach his son, the sage Aurva, and to petition him. He assures them that Aurva, pleased by their prostration, will restore their lost sight.
