The verse highlights how violence breeds further violence: the killing of a father ignites righteous or unrighteous wrath, leading to retaliatory intent. It also underscores the moral and practical danger of uncontrolled anger and the formidable consequences of spiritual power (tejas) when driven by rage.
Vasiṣṭha explains to the addressed group that a boy, enraged by his father’s death, intends to kill them. As a sign of his supernatural potency, their eyesight has already been taken away by his divine radiance.
