ततो दुर्योधन: पापस्तद्धक्ष्ये कालकूटकम्‌ । विषं प्रक्षेपपामास भीमसेनजिघांसया

Transliteration

tato duryodhanaḥ pāpas tad dhakṣye kālakūṭakam | viṣaṃ prakṣepapāmāsa bhīmasenajighāṃsayā ||

Translation

そのとき罪深きドゥルヨーダナは、ビーマセーナを滅ぼさんとし、「カーラクトゥー」(Kālakūṭa)と呼ばれる致死の毒をその食に混ぜさせた。背後では、美しい園に遊びに来たカウラヴァとパーンダヴァが、なお戯れて互いに一口ずつ口へ運んでいたが、ドゥルヨーダナの心はその無垢な遊びを、裏切りと殺害未遂の機会へと変えてしまった。
