Droṇa’s Ācārya-Dakṣiṇā: Capture of Drupada and Division of Pāñcāla (द्रोण-आचार्यदक्षिणा)
अथोयद्यानवरे तस्मिंस्तथा क्रीडागताश्न ते । परस्परस्य वक्त्रेभ्यो ददुर्भक्ष्यांस्ततस्तत:
atho yadyānavare tasmiṁs tathā krīḍāgatāś ca te | parasparasya vaktrebhyo dadur bhakṣyāṁs tatas tataḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。ついでその麗しい園にて、遊戯のために集ったカウラヴァとパーンダヴァは、親しい戯れとして互いの口へ食べ物の一口を運び合った。だが同じ場面の陰で(物語が進むにつれ)、罪深きドゥルヨーダナはビーマセーナを殺さんとの欲に駆られ、「カーラクトゥー」(Kālakūṭa)と呼ばれる猛毒をその食に混ぜさせた—友情の貌の下に嫉妬とアダルマが潜むことを示すのである。
वैशम्पायन उवाच
