प्रहारवेगाभिहता द्रुमा व्याघूर्णितास्तत: । सफलाः: प्रपतन्ति स्म द्रुतं त्रस्ता: कुमारका:
prahāravegābhihatā drumā vyāghūrṇitās tataḥ | saphalāḥ prapatanti sma drutaṁ trastāḥ kumārakāḥ ||
ヴァイシャンパーヤナは語った。激しい打撃の勢いに打たれて木々は荒々しく揺れ動き、王子たちは恐怖に駆られて、果実もろともたちまち落ちていった。この光景は、無分別な攻撃性と威嚇が、遊びや力の誇示さえも害へと変え、真の勇ではなく恐れと不安定さを露わにすることを示している。
