ये प॒श्चाज्जुह्व॑ति जातवेदः प्र॒तीच्या॑ दि॒शोऽभि॒दास॑न्त्य॒स्मान्। वरु॑णमृ॒त्वा ते परा॑ञ्चो व्यथन्तां प्र॒त्यगे॑नान् प्रतिस॒रेण॑ हन्मि
yé paścā́j juhváti jātavēdaḥ pratī́cyā diśó ’bhidā́santy asmā́n | váruṇam ṛtvā́ té parā́ñco vyathantāṁ pratyagéna pratisarḗṇa hanmi
Whoso from behind offer, O Jātavedas—who from the western quarter assail us: taking Varuṇa in due order, let them be turned away and tremble; with the counter-turning, with the counter-charm, I smite them down.
背後より供犠をなす者よ、ジャータヴェーダス(Jātavedas)よ。西の方角より来て我らを害する者どもは、正しい次第にてヴァルナ(Varuṇa)を奉じ、背を向けて退き、震えよ。われは反転の力、反呪(カウンター・チャーム)をもって彼らを打ち倒す。
