द्वाराणां पार्श्वतः शोभा अष्टौ कुर्याद्विचक्षणः पङ्क्तिद्वयं द्वयं दिक्षु वीथ्यर्थं विनियोजयेदिति ङ, चिह्नितपुस्तकपाठः तत्पार्श्व उपशोभास्तु तावत्यः परिकीर्तिताः लतावितानपत्राद्यैर् वीथिकामुपशोभयेत् पीठद्वारे तु शुक्लेन शोभारक्तेन पीततः
dvārāṇāṃ pārśvataḥ śobhā aṣṭau kuryādvicakṣaṇaḥ paṅktidvayaṃ dvayaṃ dikṣu vīthyarthaṃ viniyojayediti ṅa, cihnitapustakapāṭhaḥ tatpārśva upaśobhāstu tāvatyaḥ parikīrtitāḥ latāvitānapatrādyair vīthikāmupaśobhayet pīṭhadvāre tu śuklena śobhāraktena pītataḥ
巧みな建築者は、門の両側に八つの装飾要素を設けるべきである。各方位に二列（または二組）として配し、通路（ヴィーティ vīthī）を形づくり、かつ美しくするために用いる、とされる。これらの側方の副装飾も同数であると説かれる。通廊は蔓草文、天蓋のような垂飾、葉の装飾などで飾り、台座の門（ピータ・ドヴァーラ pīṭha-dvāra）では白・吉祥の赤・黄によって荘厳を施す。
