Lomaśa said: “O King, having pledged ‘So be it,’ the sage acted accordingly. In due season he united with his wife—one whose conduct and disposition matched his own—she being faithful and steadfast in her devoted resolve.”
लोगश उवाच
The verse highlights dharma through fidelity to one’s promise and disciplined conduct: even intimate life is framed by restraint, proper timing, and mutual harmony of character, supported by sincere faith (śraddhā).
Lomaśa narrates that Agastya, after agreeing (‘tathāstu’) and making a pledge, later comes together with his wife Lopāmudrā at the appropriate time, emphasizing propriety and shared disposition.
