Dhaumya said: “O sinless one, this place called Agniśiras is proclaimed a sacred ford—divine, auspicious, and purifying. O descendant of Bharata, it was here that Sahadeva performed a sacrifice, marking out the ritual ground by casting a śamī-wood staff and having the sacrificial pavilion set up to the measure of the distance where it fell.” The passage highlights how holy places and properly delimited ritual action are treated as instruments of purification and right order (dharma).
