Kṣānti–Tejas Viveka: Prahlāda’s Instruction to Bali
Draupadī’s Application
तेजस्वीति यमाहुर्व पण्डिता दीर्घदर्शिन:
tejasvīti yam āhur vai paṇḍitā dīrghadarśinaḥ
Yudhiṣṭhira said: “The wise, far-sighted sages indeed describe him as ‘tejasvī’—one endowed with radiant power and moral force.”
युधिछिर उवाच
True ‘tejas’ (radiant power) is recognized by the wise as a mark of inner excellence—strength guided by discernment and dharma, not mere aggression or status.
Yudhiṣṭhira is characterizing someone’s quality, citing the judgment of learned, far-sighted authorities who call that person ‘tejasvī,’ thereby grounding his evaluation in ethical and reflective wisdom.
