Bhīmasena said: Seeing that unprecedented being, Hiraṇyakaśipu’s eyes reddened with rage. With a spear raised in his hand and a garland upon his neck, the Daitya-king then rushed to attack Lord Nṛsiṃha—his fury revealing the ethical blindness of arrogance that cannot endure the presence of divine justice.

Educational Q&A

Unchecked pride and hostility toward dharma manifest as blinding anger; when confronted by divine order (here, Nṛsiṃha), the arrogant choose violence, accelerating their own downfall. The verse contrasts outward power (weapon, royal bearing) with inner moral failure (rage).

Hiraṇyakaśipu sees the extraordinary being (Nṛsiṃha) and reacts with furious, reddened eyes. Armed with a raised spear and adorned with a garland, he charges to attack, setting the stage for the confrontation between the tyrant and the divine protector.
