प्रावृट्-शरत्-वर्णनम् — Description of the Monsoon and Autumn; Sarasvatī in the Pāṇḍavas’ Exile
स ददर्श शुभान् देशान् गिरेहिमवतस्तदा देवर्षिसिद्धचरितानप्सरोगणसेवितान्,उन्होंने हिमालय पर्वतके उन शुभ प्रदेशोंका अवलोकन किया जहाँ देवर्षि और सिद्ध पुरुष विचरण करते थे तथा अप्सराएँ जिनका सदा सेवन करती थीं
sa dadarśa śubhān deśān gireḥ himavataḥ tadā devarṣi-siddha-caritān apsaro-gaṇa-sevitān
Vaiśampāyana said: Then he beheld the auspicious regions of the Himālaya—lands frequented by divine seers and perfected sages, and continually graced by companies of Apsarases. The passage frames the Himalaya as a sanctified moral landscape, where purity, tapas, and elevated conduct naturally prevail.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical power of sacred environments: places associated with tapas and perfected beings are portrayed as naturally auspicious, encouraging purity of mind and conduct in those who approach them.
The narrator describes the protagonist’s journeying vision: he observes the holy Himalayan regions, depicted as the dwelling and resort of devarṣis, siddhas, and apsarases.
