Saubha-ākhyāna: Śālva’s Approach and the Fortification of Dvārakā (सौभाख्यानम्—द्वारकायाः सुरक्षाविधानम्)
gṛhītvā kārmukaṃ sāmbaḥ śālvasya sacivaṃ raṇe | yodhayāmāsa saṃdṛṣṭaḥ kṣemavṛddhiṃ camūpatim ||
Having taken up his bow, Sāmba—filled with martial ardor—engaged in battle Śālva’s minister and the army-commander Kṣemavṛddhi, confronting them directly on the field. The verse highlights the decisive initiative of a warrior who, once armed and resolved, meets the enemy leadership face to face, intensifying the ethical weight of combat by targeting those who guide and command the opposing force.
