Kirmīra-rākṣasa-saṃgamaḥ (Encounter and Slaying of Kirmīra) | किर्मीरेण सह भीमसेनसमागमः

सा दृष्टवा पाण्डवांस्तत्र सुप्तान्‌ मात्रा सह क्षितौ । हृच्छयेनाभिभूतात्मा भीमसेनमकामयत्‌,मातासहित पाण्डवोंको वहाँ धरतीपर सोते देख कामसे पीड़ित हो उस राक्षसीने भीमसेनकी कामना की

sā dṛṣṭvā pāṇḍavāṁs tatra suptān mātrā saha kṣitau | hṛcchayenābhibhūtātmā bhīmasenam akāmayat ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Seeing the Pāṇḍavas there asleep upon the ground together with their mother, that rākṣasī—her mind overpowered by desire—conceived a longing for Bhīmasena. The verse highlights how unchecked passion can seize the mind and drive one toward ethically perilous intentions, setting the stage for a conflict between impulse and rightful conduct.
