Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Whoever continually listens with devotion to this great Bhārata, known as “Jaya,” will always have prosperity, good repute, and learning abiding together in his life.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Devotional listening to the Mahābhārata (as ‘Jaya’) is presented as a meritorious practice whose fruit is a harmonious triad: prosperity (śrī), reputation (kīrti), and learning (vidyā).
In the closing context of the epic, Vaiśaṃpāyana delivers a phalaśruti-style statement, praising the benefit of regularly hearing the Bhārata and affirming the auspicious results for the listener.
