Adhyāya 33: Rauhiṇeya (Balarāma) is welcomed and takes his seat to witness the gadā-engagement
यत्नेन तु सदा पार्थ योद्धव्यो धृतराष्ट्रज:
yatnena tu sadā pārtha yoddhavyo dhṛtarāṣṭrajaḥ
Sañjaya said: “O Pārtha, the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra must always be fought with sustained effort and vigilance.”
संजय उवाच
Persistent, disciplined effort is essential in fulfilling one’s duty in a righteous struggle; a formidable adversary should not be met casually but with steady vigilance and resolve.
Sañjaya, narrating the battlefield events, addresses Arjuna (Pārtha) and urges him to engage the Kaurava prince (the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra) with continuous, deliberate effort—implying the opponent’s danger and the need for sustained combat focus.
