Daiva–Puruṣakāra Saṃvāda
Kṛpa’s Counsel on Destiny and Human Effort
ते पृष्टास्तु वदेयुर्यच्छेयो न: समनन्तरम्
te pṛṣṭāstu vadeyur yaccheyo naḥ samanantaram
If they are questioned, they should state what is truly best for us—immediately and without delay. Kripa urges that, in this crisis, counsel must be prompt and directed toward the group’s welfare rather than hesitation or self-justification.
कृप उवाच
In moments of danger and moral uncertainty, one should seek and offer counsel that aims at śreyaḥ—genuine welfare—and do so promptly; delay and ambiguity can worsen harm.
Kṛpa, speaking among the surviving Kaurava leaders after the war, presses for immediate, welfare-oriented advice: if questioned, the others should state at once what course is best for their side.
